A stunning and rare example of a genuine late Art Deco period round pedestal Coffee or Centre Table from the renowned designer Reiners Mobler, of Mjolby, Sweden. Of substantial dimensions this gloriously decadent table has been inlaid with vibrant flame Mahogany veneers radially and a wonderfully contrasting centre medallion of satin Birch, a design and style typical of this high end designer. The thick top sits upon a concave tripod centre column with stylised split turning Ebonised Corinthian columns , which in turn sits upon a tripod base with shaped ebonised feet. The table is stamped on the top support plate with an “R” and “MJOLBY” surrounded by three crowns inside a triangle and date stamped 1942 on the underside of the top edge. This truly remarkable piece comes complete with a bespoke protective 8mm plate glass top.
